Rebels with a cause

If you think you’re too much of a rebel for God to love, think again….

” I have come to know a God who has a soft spot for rebels, who recruits people like the adulterer David, the whiner Jeremiah, the traitor Peter, and the human-rights abuser Saul of Tarsus. I have come to know a God whose Son made prodigals the heroes of his stories and the trophies of his ministry. ”

  1. Rebel? Would that be a revolutionary, resistance fighter, insurgent, secessionist, mutineer, insurrectionary, revolutionist? Or perhaps a nonconformist, dissident, maverick, dissenter, heretic, apostate, schismatic ?

In any case, not just a failure, but someone intent on disobedience, not honouring or believing in the authority.

    Hmm….

  2. For a rebel dear to my heart, let us introduce you to the God of Hope.

“Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?” The watchman said, “The morning comes, and also the night.” (Isaiah 21:11–12)

“God is called a God of hope (Rom. 15:13), which means He identifies His own character with hope. Therefore, as Christians, we should never give up our confession of hope (Heb. 10:23), and neither should you dear one, because God hasn’t given up on you!

The answer that the watchman gave some 2,700 years ago in the time of Isaiah is still valid today: “The morning comes and also the night!” Yes, the world is shaking and insecurity is increasing on many levels. And it is true that at times God will shake our lives in order to accomplish His purposes. But, there remains one rock that cannot be shaken and that is the Kingdom of God!

No darkness can stop the Kingdom of God! On the contrary, often it is darkness that He uses as His vehicle to come to our rescue (Ps. 18:4-12).” ICEJ

It is my prayer that you will be able to see a Light in the darkness, and allow God to come to your rescue, just like we did. Am praying for you old mate, whether you like it or not!
