Ok it’s an ad…but it conveys something vital about the important things in life.

    • Try NOT thinking about it; thought too often gets in the way.
The important things come naturally, spontaneously.
,,,,,and usually they don’t require much to achieve.
But they do slosh around all over the place.

    • I reckon a good few of the 6 million who watched this were on the very web-site, Dom. You must’ve missed it at the time.
Makes the point though. Think global; act local. A bag of soup and a few pills wouldn’t’ve gone far if they’d been contributed to World Vision or the local church collection plate.

      • Dom,
Where and how on earth did you ever get to being ‘approached’ by an atheist – preacher or otherwise?

I’ve only ever talked to atheists that I knew or who were engaged in some study or activity that I was already engaged in. But there are loads of times when I was pounced on by Christian ‘preachers’ or enthusiasts. Never though, now I come to think about it, by an Islamic or Jewish ‘preacher’.

      • More a ‘freedom-fighter’, I hope, Dom. (I’m having trouble imagining ‘preaching atheism’. Is that possible?)
I have no desire to ‘preach’ for some other or any particular brand of shackles; I advocate the striking-off of ALL shackles.
….even if that scares the shit out of people.
Actual ‘Freedom’ is something most can’t cope with.

        Seen this?:-

        Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
        For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
        Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.
