      • Wrong fair enough it happens to the best of us. So out of all the atheists you know who told you that was their philosophy ?

      • Hi Bryan

Well for a start how can I (being an atheist) be ignorant of what an atheist’s view on life is ? Because I haven’t met YOUR reading criteria, that’s absurd.

My initial question was “So out of all the atheists you know who told you that as their philosophy ?” No offence but you’ve done nothing to address that.

Honestly from my point of view you just seem to have done your very best to confuse the issue.

And yeah I don’t speak for all atheists. But why on earth would I believe that the 6 guys you named DO speak for all atheists? Why would you for that matter ?

Looks like I missed another memo 🙂

      • OK yah got me. I’ll give in

How about I further amend my sneaky ol suspicion to one that the “atheists view on life” was generated without any input from any actual atheists. I’d say it’s more like “what a Christian thinks an atheists view on life is” – based on some books he’s read. And oh gee my what a lot of books how very smart and learned he must be know wonder he knows so much more than an ignorant atheist like me.

You might want to revisit your topic on humility. Might do you good.

      • You keep amending to a ridiculous point. And why should anyone bother to read books? You obviously know better without all that book learnin’ Bubba.

        Hell yeah!!!

        Yee Hah!

I think that Queensland sun’s getting to you again.

      • Well, you don’t talk for all atheists.. After all you posed the question in the first place and I pointed you in the direction I thought would clearly answer your question. But if you don’t wish to…stay ignorant. Why cares?

      • Funny in all that reading you’ve done you never came across the suggestion that you should remove the log in your own eye first.

Is it really that remarkable a suggestion to you that if you want to know what an atheist thinks you could actually talk to one and ask them ?

Rather than read a few books then dictate to them what they think.

      • “I probably talk to more atheists on a day to day basis than you do ”

Right so when I asked ” So out of all the atheists you know who told you that was their philosophy ” you couldn’t name a single one.

But considering the nature of our conversation to date I have no doubt you TALK to plenty of atheists.

I have strong doubts that you LISTEN to any of em.

      • Well as I said before “Yep without evidence to the contrary my beliefs rarely change. ”

Happy to say it again as it seems you weren’t listening the first time.

      • Nope I’m keen to listen. That’s why I ask question, I’m interested in understanding your view on things.

I am curious though why run such a blog if you don’t want to listen to other people’s opinions ?

      • I’ve been running this blog for years. I like the discussion, just not the people who don’t really want to discuss but are just here to put down believers in a loving God and have made up their minds that such a thing doesn’t exist. I don’t know why you’re here. Can you tell me why? Are you just here to express your non belief or something else?

      • “I don’t know why you’re here. Can you tell me why?”

You know this is the first time I can recall that you’ve asked or even given the slightest indication that you’d like my view on something. (OR that you’re honestly willing to listen to any view other than your own, or at least that’s how I see it).

Why would I want to put down believers in a loving God ? Does that really make much sense to you ?

However when you tell me what atheists think, or what their view on life is. AND I find that view inaccurate then I might have a couple of things to say.

I might read some books by apologists etc and based on that then tell you how you see the world. IF you find what I’m saying inaccurate I’d bet you’d tell me. And hopefully I’d listen. Hopefully I’d be asking questions like “well what would you change”, “what’s your view on life”. “how do you think I’ve got it wrong”. What I hope I wouldn’t be doing is belittling and dismissing your opinion.

  1. That’s clever,
And, in general, almost accurate…from the christian perspective (ie ‘arse up):-
    “It is ridiculous to think.
Everything is fine but with god.”
