IN the midst of mourning over the death this week of a special friend named Helen, her friends set up a Facebook page where they shared loving memories and comforted each other.
There were many friends of Helen I didn’t know. Now I know them.
It made me think how this technology can bring people together.
It made me think about interconnected we ALL really are.
Scientists tell us that two people sitting in the same room together exchange water vapor within 30 minutes.
And they theorise that every square hectare of the Earth contains particles from every other square hectare.
The astrophysicist and cosmologist Brian Swimme has the view that whenever we take a deep breath, we breathe in some of the breath that Jesus exhaled on the cross.
“What science has discovered is a profound interconnection; we are just embedded in one amazing web,’’ he said.
That is the reality of interdependence.
